Using the site

The articles and tools are free to use for personal and commercial work. You do not need permission to follow a tutorial, adapt the code in it, or use output from a tool in a client project.

Code samples

Code published in articles is provided under the MIT licence unless the article says otherwise. Use it, modify it, ship it. Attribution is appreciated but not required.

Content and copyright

Article text, images and the site design remain the property of their authors. Republishing a full article without permission is not allowed. Quoting a few paragraphs with a link back is, and always welcome.

Accounts

You are responsible for keeping your password secure and for activity under your account. We may suspend accounts used for spam, scraping, or attempts to break the site. One person, one account.

Comments

Comments are moderated. We remove spam, personal attacks and link-dropping without notice. Disagreement is fine and often the most useful part of a thread — contempt is not.

The tools, and warranty

The tools are provided as is. They run on your device, so results depend on your browser. Check anything important before you rely on it — particularly compressed images destined for print and generated passwords you intend to store somewhere permanent.

Liability

To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for losses arising from use of the site, its code samples or its tools. Nothing here is professional legal, financial or security advice.
