About the Date and Time Calculator
Enter a number, choose a unit, and get the exact date and time that far into the future or the past. Covers minutes, hours, days, weeks, months and years in both directions, and returns the weekday, ISO week, day of year and Unix timestamp alongside the date.
What is the Date and Time Calculator?
The Date and Time Calculator is a free online tool that tells you the exact date and time a set amount of time away from right now. Ask it what date is 90 days from today, what time it will be 45 minutes from now, or what date was 6 months ago, and it answers instantly.
It works in both directions across six units, so a single tool covers every common question:
- Minutes from now and minutes ago from now — short timers, cooking, meeting buffers
- Hours from now and hours ago from now — shift handovers, medication schedules, deployment windows
- Days from today and days ago from today — deadlines, returns windows, trial periods
- Weeks from today and weeks ago from today — notice periods, sprint planning, pregnancy weeks
- Months from today and months ago from today — contracts, subscriptions, warranty expiry
- Years from today and years ago from today — anniversaries, renewals, long-term planning
Every calculation runs in your browser using your own device clock and time zone. Nothing is uploaded, nothing is stored, and it keeps working if you lose your connection.
How to use the Date and Time Calculator
- Enter a number. Any whole number, from 1 to a million. This is how far you want to move.
- Choose a unit and a direction. The dropdown is split into two groups: Into the future for options like Days from today, and Into the past for options like Months ago from now.
- Press Calculate. The result appears immediately, showing the full date, the time, the day of the week and the difference in plain language.
- Copy or download. Use Copy result to put the whole breakdown on your clipboard, or download it as a text file for your records.
The quick buttons under the form cover the calculations people run most often, such as 30 days from today and 1 year ago, in a single click.
Worked examples
- A 30 day returns window. Bought something today? Enter 30, choose Days from today, and you have the last day you can send it back.
- A 90 day notice period. Enter 90 with Days from today to find the exact leaving date, including the weekday, so you know whether it lands on a weekend.
- A 12 month contract. Enter 12 with Months from today rather than 365 days — the month option follows the calendar and handles leap years correctly.
- Checking a past deadline. Enter 6 with Months ago from now to see exactly when a six month period started.
Why months are not just thirty days
Adding 30 days to 31 January gives 2 March. Adding one calendar month gives 28 February, or 29 February in a leap year. Those are different answers, and only one of them matches how a contract or a billing cycle is actually counted.
This calculator uses real calendar arithmetic for months and years, and clamps to the last valid day of the target month. That is the same rule banks and payroll systems apply, so the result matches the date on your paperwork.
Frequently confused: days versus weeks
Two weeks from today and 14 days from today produce the same date. Both options exist because deadlines are quoted both ways, and picking the one that matches the wording of your agreement makes the answer easier to check.
